Couponing is become a major sport among Americans today. With the economy declining, the US dollar devalued, thousands of people out of work, getting coupons is like getting free money.
How many of you have watched “Extreme Couponing” on TLC? I have many times. At first I could not understand HOW they were spending only a FRACTION of the retail value. Then, the more I watched the more I realized how easy it is to coupon.
For example: In your local Giant Eagle weekly advertisement, Brawny paper towels are on sale 10/$10. Okay, that is a nice break from the original $1.39, BUT if you also look in your Redplum coupon book you will find a $.50 cent off coupons for those paper towels. Now, GE doubles your coupons up to $.99, so you do the math: 1 roll = $1, 1 $.50 coupon = $1 when doubled at the store. Therefore, you are getting the paper towels for $.01 plus tax.
When you make out your local grocery shopping list, shop by the sale ads for your local grocery store then find the coupons that will go with those sale items. You will quickly figure out how simple it really is to get that stock pile you’ve always wanted and cut your grocery bill by 50% or MORE!
If you’ve gotten a deal with coupons, share it here! I’d love to see everyone’s shopping trip savings!
