Review

With so many great Roku Reviews there’s no questions the Roku is a solid device to stream all your media. I have owned my Roku XS for awhile now and absolutely love it! We loved it here so much we ended up getting the Roku XD for the bedroom.

In this review I’ll highlight what I like about my Roku. First of all the Roku is small. You barely notice the Roku is there when it’s setup. I immediately fell in love with the Roku. Before this Roku was invented we built a media center PC and placed it by the TV which looked awkward with the big tower just sitting by the tv.

We were so happy to have replaced that with the tiny Roku. Don’t let its size deceive you though! This thing had an HDMI and also has options for a wired or wireless connection. The connection works great. We’ve used both the wireless and wired and have had absolutely no problems using either connection.

You’ll want to make sure your router isn’t too far away. There are of course of few things to take into consideration if you’re using wireless. Make sure you don’t have many obstructions or aren’t picking up interference of any kind from cordless phones.

Each Roku comes with a remote control which works great. You’ll also get batteries with it from what I can remember. You’ll get the standard navigation functions on the remote. It’s as if you had a DVD remote control with almost the same exact features.

No imagine being able to digitally stream endless movies to your tv? How cool is that? The biggest channels for the Roku are Netflix, Amazon on Demand and Hulu. There are tons of other channels as well. I have installed Pandora and absolutely love it. You’ll also see other movie channels for free like Crackel.

With so many options with the Roku it’s really unlimited. There are literally hundreds of channels that will constantly keep you entertained. We have started filling up our Amazon Video On Demand library with our favorite movies and absolutely love it.

It’s great to stream movies instead of having the DVDs here. With the kids it gets hard to maintain a nice DVD collection. Our daughter is always opening the DVD cases and throwing the DVDs around the house which can easily scratch them and make them skip.

While there are a few paid channels for the Roku there are many free ones. Whether you’re looking for news, horoscopes, funny retro commercials, old superbowl commercials or would like to kick back and watch some free movies the Roku has you covered.
